There Will Be Blood
Elyse and I went to see There Will Be Blood last night. We went to a 1045 showing, which meant we didn’t get out of there until 1:30. I thought it was incredible. I definitely enjoyed it more than No Country for Old Men and Atonement, but it was really, really long. My ADD can’t really sit still for that long, and I was looking at the clock on my Treo quite a bit. Still, DDL is superb....
Irascible
Today was a total loss. Not sure why, just couldn’t get motivated to do much of anything except stare at a blank computer screen and write 400 subprime words. (Am I allowed to use that word in that context?) Nothing bad happened, it was just totally erasable, and now I’m totally irascible. Tomorrow!
Super Bowl XLII
Well, the Cowboys lost but, for me, the home team won. I can’t wait to see the headlines in the Post and Daily News tomorrow. I spent most of the day passed out under about seven blankets. Three of my girls came in from upstate and Rhode Island this weekend, and sleep didn’t really happen. Friday night we stayed in and drank our weight in wine. Last night we galloped around the East...

Tilly and the Wall
I cannot stop listening to Tilly and the Wall’s “Bad Education.” Over and over and over again. I need an intervention. My dog is twitching to the beat in his sleep. I miss my friend Jackie. She makes a mean mixed tape. Tilly and the Wall-Bad Education I think I jinxed Obama. Meh.
I cannot believe how warm it is today.
It was just too nice out not to take Pirate to the dog park and write a whole bunch of stuff out by hand. I bought some chicken sausage from Trader Joe’s today, and I plan to go crazy tonight. Pirate’s been on a hunger strike since we left CA, but I don’t think he’s going to be able to hold out much longer… I’m excited to watch the New Hampshire primary results...

I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want to do with this site. I don’t have the time to post as much as I did at its peak in 2005, when I was receiving 1300 unique hits a day—which, to me, is a huge number. But I don’t have any compelling reason to shut it down completely, either. If I ever get around to organizing and posting all my clips, it might be a nice...

I made some New Year’s resolutions this year, and one of them is to not go on Instant Messenger. So far, I’ve made it a day.
